Summary:The aim of this work was to select the transition piece for economically alloyed high-strength 30KhGSN2A steel in order to produce welded joints in quenched and tempered elements with a tensile strength of at least 1300 MPa. The main part of the investigations was carried out on 12 mm thick plates of 30KhGSN2A steel. Plates 5, 10, 17 and 20 mm thick were also tested.
