Summary: | Electrochemical formation of nickel-zinc electrodeposits with and without phosphorous inclusion has been carried out under controlled potentiostatic and galvanostatic conditions. Impedance spectral measurements have been used for the determination of the polarization behavior of the electrodeposits with a view to examine the dependence of corrosion characteristics on the experimental conditions. Galvanostatic deposition yields preparations endowed with increased resistance towards electrochemical corrosion, especially when higher current density is used. Phosphorous containing nickel-zinc deposits exhibit substantially improved corrosion resistance. |
