Summary: | The internal friction method is applied to studies of structural relaxation in polymer composite materials irradiated by different doses of high energetic electrons. The relaxation processes observed are identified and attributed to structural alterations in the polymer filler, the binder and the boundary layers. It is shown that changes in the parameters of relaxation maxima during irradiation can be considered as quantitative characteristics for the degree of radiation-induced degradation or crosslinking of polymer molecules. Parameters of internal friction peaks connected with structural relaxation in boundary layers of the composite material include characteristics of the polymer binder interaction with the filler. |
