Summary:Formation of permanent joints of the WC-8Co hard alloy and Steel 45 was studied experimentally using the SHS welding method. In this method, the reaction mixture is placed between the materials to be welded and electrothermal explosion (ETE) results in the exothermic interaction of the mixture components. The molten SHS product welds hard alloy and steel. The effect of mixture layer on the weld strength has been studied.
