Superconducting properties of CuS2−xSex under high pressure

Cu dichalcogenide compounds CuS2-xSex with pyrite structure were synthesized at a pressure of 5 GPa with a cubic anvil press. All samples showed metallic behavior and exhibited superconductivity between 1.6 and 2.5 K. Magnetic susceptibility was measured with a SQUID magnetometer under various press...

Description
Summary:Cu dichalcogenide compounds CuS2-xSex with pyrite structure were synthesized at a pressure of 5 GPa with a cubic anvil press. All samples showed metallic behavior and exhibited superconductivity between 1.6 and 2.5 K. Magnetic susceptibility was measured with a SQUID magnetometer under various pressures. With increasing pressure, the Tc of CuSe2 decreased, and the decreasing rate was estimated to be about 0.2 K/GPa. Magnetic susceptibility of CuS2 began to decrease at 150 K and exhibited two peaks at around 40 and 50 K. 4 refs.
