Descriptions are given of the production conditions, microstructure, and properties of a glass ceramics containing silicon, sodium, and boron oxides together with the ash from animal bones. Two-stage sintering has been used > 1300K and < 1100K. The bulk porosity is in the range 11-72%. Details...
