Description
Summary:Service-learning is a teaching approach that can help nursing students learn about health disparities, teamwork, collaboration, values, and ethics in the real world (Markaki et al., 2021). Students analyzed national, state, and local data and spoke with a food bank community liaison to better understand this health disparity and how to proceed. According to their presentations, all of the students (N = 15) indicated service-learning helped them learn about food insecurity and health disparities.
