Thermal conductivity of rare-earth nickel borocarbides

YNi 2B 2C and LuNi 2B 2C are relatively high T c superconductors ( T c =15.6K and 16.6K, respectively) for quaternary intermetallic compounds. Description
Summary:YNi 2B 2C and LuNi 2B 2C are relatively high T c superconductors ( T c =15.6K and 16.6K, respectively) for quaternary intermetallic compounds. Recent neutron scattering experiments show anomalous phonon behavior below T c for both YNi 2B 2C and LuNi 2B 2C. Thermal conductivity measurements have been performed and indicate a strong enhancement below T c in the thermal conductivity of LuNi 2B 2C, and a weaker enhancement below T c for YNi 2B 2C which is similar to measurements previously reported by others for YNi 2B 2C.
