Summary: | A correspondence principle is established between elastic and piezoelectric problems for transversely isotropic materials, in such a way that the knowledge of an elastic solution yields fully coupled electro-elastic fields for the corresponding piezoelectric problem, provided the elastic solution is written in a certain form. The implementation of this principle is illustrated by constructing, in a routine way, several piezoelectric solutions involving crack and punch problems (one of them has not been solved previously). |
