The effect of reinforcements on superplasticity of in situ synthesized (TiB+TiC)/Ti matrix composite
The superplastic deformation behavior of Ti-1100 composite reinforced with 5% and 10% TiB and TiC is studied. A maximum elongation of 659% was obtained. The addition of reinforcements reduce the superplastic temperature. The deformation mechanism is consistent with and supported by the previous work...

Summary: | The superplastic deformation behavior of Ti-1100 composite reinforced with 5% and 10% TiB and TiC is studied. A maximum elongation of 659% was obtained. The addition of reinforcements reduce the superplastic temperature. The deformation mechanism is consistent with and supported by the previous work in titanium matrix composites with 1% reinforcement. The effect of reinforcement on superplasticity is also discussed. |
