Summary:Authors report the preparation of highly grain-aligned and densified [Ca2CoO3-d]0.62CoO2 bulks and their high thermoelectric performance. The highly c-axis aligned (F=0.94) and densified samples with low resistivity at RT (approximately 5 mOHM cm) were obtained by the combination of magnetic alignment and spark-plasma-sintering methods. Resistivity r and Seebeck coefficient S along the ab plane were changed with O content and, consequently, a power factor (=S2/r) was enhanced up to 3.5 x 10-6 W.cm-1.K-2 at 300 K for the sample annealed at 500 C in air. 12 refs.
