Description
Summary:We have investigated the effect of microstructure and superconducting properties of melt-textured Dy–Ba–Cu–O bulk superconductors on various oxygen partial pressures in melt processing. The c-axis-oriented Dy–Ba–Cu–O bulk superconductors are melt textured in 1% O 2–Ar, air and pure O 2. It is found that the distribution of voids in the microstructure depends on oxygen pressures. The number of voids decreases in a sample fabricated in O 2. The peak effect is observed in J c– B curves of these samples except for the sample fabricated in 1% O 2. Such behavior is similar to those found in Nd– and Sm–Ba–Cu–O. These results indicate the possibility of the Dy/Ba substitution.
