Fine-tuning the optical properties of aluminium and lithium quinolates through oligothiophene substituents in 2-position

The preparation and characterization of new ligands, including 2-(2′oligothiophene)-8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives is described. The synthesis as well as the thermal, optical and electrochemical properties of the corresponding lithium, aluminium and zinc complexes is reported. The absorption and flu...

Description
Summary:The preparation and characterization of new ligands, including 2-(2′oligothiophene)-8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives is described. The synthesis as well as the thermal, optical and electrochemical properties of the corresponding lithium, aluminium and zinc complexes is reported. The absorption and fluorescence emission spectra, and the fluorescence yields of these complexes are largely governed by the nature of ligands, which make them ideal materials for organic light emitting devices (OLED).
