Description
Summary:This paper presents a model for the neuromuscular system of the pilot's arm. The model was developed in order to gain a better understanding of the interaction between a side stick and the human arm. In the model, the dynamics of the neuromuscular system and of the stick are considered separately, and so control situations where the stick and arm are subjected to accelerations (in a moving vehicle) or where haptic feedback is applied through the stick can be studied. Two of the experiments to provide parameter values for the model are described. One experiment is intended for determination of the parameters of the neuromuscular systems hardware, and the other for determining the control of this hardware. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
