Description
Summary:I consider the proposals outlined in [1] by leading scientists of the Scientific-Research Institute of Foundations and Underground Structures concerning implementation of the concept "Geotechnical category of a construction project" (GCCP) extremely useful, and not only opportune, but also somewhat overdue in practical domestic scientific research, geologic-engineering surveys, design, construction, and operation, and in appropriate regulatory documents. I am convinced of the fact that this will permit practical implementation of the long-ago declared principle "buildings and structures functioning jointly with the soil bed" to a much greater extent with consideration of requirements of Construction Rules and Regulations 2.02.01-83* and 2.02.03-85, and, in turn, contribute to acceptance of the most proven, economical, and, chiefly, reliable technical solutions.
