Summary:This reply provides clarification following comments that our previous paper (Bouhadad and Laouami, 2002) overestimated seismic hazard in the area studied because of the way the seismic source parameters were calculated and of methodology used. The particular points raised in the comments are: (i) the recurrence relationship of seismic sources, particularly the maximum magnitude estimation, the b-value calculation and the paleoseismic data: (ii) general remarks.
