Description
Summary:To improve the contouring performance of multiaxis computer numerically controlled machine tools, a model-referenced adaptive control strategy, combined with cross-coupled control of axial motion, is proposed. A feedback control loop is established between the desired input feedrate an the output contour error. By specifying a contour error bound, the desired feedrate is adaptively adjusted so that the resultant contour accuracy can be maintained within the specified bound. An experimental positioning system was constructed for implementing the control strategy. The experimental work shows the effectiveness of the method.< >
