Resonance stabilization triggered by hybridization effects

We report on resonance effects between the electronic system and the static structure in amorphous and quasicrystalline systems of Al–TM-alloys (TM: Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, PdMn, CuFe, PdRe). Strong indications of a complete hybridization of all the Al p-electrons with the TM d-states are presented. This hy...

Description
Summary:We report on resonance effects between the electronic system and the static structure in amorphous and quasicrystalline systems of Al–TM-alloys (TM: Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, PdMn, CuFe, PdRe). Strong indications of a complete hybridization of all the Al p-electrons with the TM d-states are presented. This hybridization helps to improve medium-ranging spherical-periodic order, as well as to form short-ranging angular correlations.
