A new type of optoelectronic millimeter-wave finline switches
A novel millimeter-wave finline switch constructed on teflon substrates, which can be easily fabricated and mounted, is proposed. The experimental results show that less than 2-dB insertion loss in the region of 26-40 GHz and 23.4 dB on/off ratio has been reached. Because of the switch's compat...

Summary: | A novel millimeter-wave finline switch constructed on teflon substrates, which can be easily fabricated and mounted, is proposed. The experimental results show that less than 2-dB insertion loss in the region of 26-40 GHz and 23.4 dB on/off ratio has been reached. Because of the switch's compatibility with conventional finline structures, it will have a wide range of applications. A simple method to analyze its behavior is given, and it is shown to accurately predict the experimental results. A nonlinear relationship between the photoconductivity and the light power is given; it has been confirmed by experiment.< > |
