Summary: | Recent process improvements in the crystal growth of cadmium tungstate at Bicron support the production of scintillation grade material with reduced self absorption. We have reevaluated some of the properties of this material. Of particular note, we find the wavelength of the peak emission intensity to be between 475 and 480 nm and scintillation efficiency relative to NaI to be significantly higher than previously reported.< > |
