Reducing adjacent channel interference in RZ WDM systems via dispersion interleaving
Dispersion interleaving is proposed and numerically demonstrated to reduce the adjacent channel interference in return-to-zero wavelength-division-multiplexing systems employing interleavers in the multiplexer-demultiplexer. The residual dispersion is shown to mitigate the fluctuations of the interf...

Summary: | Dispersion interleaving is proposed and numerically demonstrated to reduce the adjacent channel interference in return-to-zero wavelength-division-multiplexing systems employing interleavers in the multiplexer-demultiplexer. The residual dispersion is shown to mitigate the fluctuations of the interference from the adjacent channels and, thus, reduce bit-error rate. |
