Description
Summary:Mosaic warts are a type of verruca vulgaris that occur almost exclusively on the soles of the feet. They are particularly known for their treatment resistance and high recurrence rate. Laser-assisted drug delivery (LADD) photodynamic therapy (PDT) with methyl aminolevulinate (MAL) offers a low pain treatment option with hardly any side effects in therapy-resistant cases of verruca plantaris. Pretreatment with an ablative fractional laser is especially important to obtain penetration of MAL through the human papillomavirus (HPV)-infected skin layer.
