Description
Summary:The transient finite element analysis of an induction motor using Flux2D, a 2D finite element package with external circuit connections and electromechanical coupling features is presented in this paper. Two types of transient analysis are performed. The first is the transient analysis with rotor motion at constant speed so that we can take into account the harmonies due to the motion. The second is the transient analysis with electromechanical coupling so that we can study the dynamic behavior of the induction motor by starting the motor with no load until it reaches the synchronous speed and then we apply a rated load.
