Summary: | A single IC that performs processing and a 9-b digital-to-analog conversion of video component signals is described. It accepts multiple data formats and improves picture quality by luminance peaking, digital chrominance transition improvement, and oversampling techniques. Display format control (4:3, 16:9, etc.) is realized by time compression or expansion. This display processor was implemented in a 1 mu m-CMOS technology with two-layer metallization. The chip has an area of 50.17 mm/sup 2/, containing 179397 transistors.< > |
