Gas sensing by AT-cut quartz crystal oscillator coated with mixed-lipid film

AT-cut 9 MHz quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensors coated with mixed-lipid films were investigated. Mixed-lipid films on the quartz crystal contributed to the sensitivity elevation of the sensors for VOCs. For example, the sensitivity of a sensor coated with a mixed film (2C 12N +C 2OH and 2C 12...

Description
Summary:AT-cut 9 MHz quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensors coated with mixed-lipid films were investigated. Mixed-lipid films on the quartz crystal contributed to the sensitivity elevation of the sensors for VOCs. For example, the sensitivity of a sensor coated with a mixed film (2C 12N +C 2OH and 2C 12N +/PSS) to 1,1,1-trichloroethane is nine times higher than that of a sensor coated with a 2C 12N +C 2OH film only. The approximate curves were created from the frequency shift curves of the gas sensors. The differential coefficients of the approximate curves at measurement times of 20 and 40 s showed better classification of VOCs.
