Description
Summary:Precision magnetoresistance (MR) Deltarho/rho(H,T) and magnetization M(H,T) measurements have been carried out for two archetypal magnetic systems CeAl2 and CeB6 with strong electron correlations. The experimental data are discussed in the framework of a simple relation between resistivity and magnetization -Deltarho/rhoM2 obtained by K. Yosida [Phys. Rev. 107 (1957) 396]. Local magnetic susceptibility chiloc(T,H)=(1/H(d(Deltarho/rho)/dH))1/2 was deduced directly from the main component of MR and compared in details with the results of bulk susceptibility chi(T,H) measurements. Two additional second order contributions have also been detected in MR ((i) linear (~H) and (ii) nanoscale ferromagnetic components).
