Obtention of heterothallic mutants from homothallic wine yeast: application to hybridization for industrial purposes
A method of obtaining heterothallic strains from wine-isolated homothallic yeast has been developed. The method is based on the selection of hybrids in an appropriate selection medium between homothallic spores treated with EMS and heterothallic cells of a or alpha mating type that possess one domin...

Summary: | A method of obtaining heterothallic strains from wine-isolated homothallic yeast has been developed. The method is based on the selection of hybrids in an appropriate selection medium between homothallic spores treated with EMS and heterothallic cells of a or alpha mating type that possess one dominant (resistant to 2-deoxyglucose) and one recessive (petite rho degree phenotype) genetic marker. |
