Description
Summary:The role of position sensors for control applications is getting more important since the degree of industrial automation is increasing continuously. We are reporting about major demands which have to be fulfilled in order to be successful in the next years: More intelligence and less power consumption in the sensor, miniaturisation through use of highly integrated microelectronics and microsystems technologies, robust measurement methods and less installation and wiring costs, improved performance and last but not least a further cost reduction through mass production methods. We will present three different sensor principles and some new aspects in the field of noncontacting position sensors for the industrial automation.
