Summary: | Liquid-quenched alloys containing the high-temperature berthollidic phase MnAl0.8 (Mg type) were investigated by means of X-ray powder diffraction. The unit cell volume of MnAlo.s increases and the axial ratio da decreases with increasing mole fraction of aluminium. Despite the fact that stability of this phase is controlled by a complex interaction of valence electron and the 3d electron concentration, MnAlo.s shows clearly behaviour of the brass-like "zeta-phases". |
