Summary:Subcritical crack growth behaviors of (Y,Nb)-TZP and (Y,Nb,Ce)-TZP/alumina composites were evaluated and compared with the results of alumina and 3Y TZP monoliths. Among them, (Y,Nb,Ce)-TZP/20 vol% Al2O3 composite showed the highest subcritical crack growth resistance with resistance to low temperature degradation and high strength of 860 MPa and toughness of 8 MPam"2.
