Description
Summary:Here we report on Aharonov-Bohm oscillations of the magnetoresistance (MR) of single-crystal Bi nanowires (d55 nm, and 73 nm). The equidistant oscillations of the MR have been observed in a wide range of magnetic fields up to 14 T at various temperatures and angles of the sample orientation relative to the magnetic field. We have observed 3 frequencies of the MR oscillations; one of them with period B=0/(2S), where 0=h/e is the flux quantum and S is the wire cross section, corresponds to the theoretical predictions for the Aharonov-Bohm oscillations in disordered cylinders. Two other periods have weak dependence of their values on the magnetic field direction angle and may be connected with Dingle's predictions for oscillations as results from quantization of the electron energy spectrum.
