Summary: | Motion due to a horizontal circular ring of wave sources of time-dependent strength submerged in water with an ice-cover, modelled as a thin elastic sheet, is investigated here by constructing the velocity potential. The problem is formulated as an initial value problem which is solved by Laplace transform technique. Water of infinite and uniform finite depth is considered. For the particular case of time-harmonic wave sources, the steady-state development of the potential is also obtained. |
