Summary: | Determination of diffusion coefficients of elements in liquid metals is of vital importance when studying metallurgical processes involving molten metals. In this study, a predictive diffusion coefficient equation, aimed at describing the diffusivity of solute atoms in liquid metals, has been developed. The prediction of this equation is in reasonably good agreement with the experimental studies. Due to the simple-parameter nature of the equation, it could be very useful in predicting diffusion coefficients of solute atoms in liquid metals when experimental data are scarce. |
