Anti-parallel crystal spectrometer at BL15XU in SPring-8, first results

Description
Summary:A simple double-crystal spectrometer with an anti-parallel setting in 2 θ scanning range from 20° up to 147° was developed for the experiment of RIXS in the third generation synchrotron facility BL15XU, SPring-8. The spectrometry is done with modifying the commercial RIGAKU spectrometer (3580EKI). Although the resolving power of the double-crystal X-ray spectrometer is largely dependent on the perfection of the crystals, double-crystal spectrometer in general secures high resolving power, intensity, and reproducibility. As an example, RIXS data of several elements in ferroelectric materials, LiTaO 3 and BaTiO 3, are presented.
