Summary: | The reliability of the consecutive < e1 > k < /e1 > -out-of- < e1 > r < /e1 > -from- < e1 > n < /e1 > :F system is studied. For < e1 > k < /e1 > =2 an explicit solution is given for < e1 > n < /e1 > components in line or in cycle in the i.i.d. case. For < e1 > k < /e1 > 3 sharp lower and upper bounds are given for the reliability of the system and demonstrated for different values of < e1 > n < /e1 > , < e1 > k < /e1 > , < e1 > r < /e1 > , < e1 > p < /e1 > . These bounds are exact for < e1 > r < /e1 > = < e1 > n < /e1 > , < e1 > n < /e1 > -1, < e1 > n < /e1 > -2, < e1 > n < /e1 > -3, and for these values the exact analytic solution is also given |
