Summary: | Optically good quality single crystals of -argininium formate (-Arg.HCOOH abbreviated as LAF) of dimensions up to 11X8X6mm3 are grown employing slow evaporation technique at room temperature. These crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, Fourier transform infrared and UV-VIS-NIR spectral studies. The thermal stability of the crystal is investigated using thermo-gravimetric analysis studies. The hardness anisotropy of the sample is confirmed by Vickers hardness studies done on (100), (010) and (001) orientations. |
