Description
Summary:A description is given of a demonstration facility for the treatment of simulated high-level radioactive wastes prior to immobilization in glass and results are summarized from tests on the applicability of this process to inorganic, caustic, industrial sludges containing heavy metals. Possible modifications to the vitrification process to make it more economic for application to other sludges are indicated.
