Description
Summary:The activation energy of the individual vortices in superconductive YBa 2Cu 3O 7− δ epitaxial thin films is proportional to the temperature in the low temperature range. Data from the literature show that this behavior is similar to that of twinned single crystals and that the activation energy takes the form E a=4π νk B T, where ν is an integer, in this domain of temperature. This property is interpreted in the framework of a critical state model according to which the vortices move along the sample twin boundaries that behave as arrays of short Josephson junctions.
