Summary: | Thorium nitrate-impregnated silica gel layers were utilized for the separation of zinc, cadmium, thallium and mercury from seawater and industrial wastewater. Some common pesticides, namely malathion, carbaryl, carbofuran and bavistin, do not impair the separation and detection of the above-mentioned toxic metals in seawater and industrial wastewater. Detection limits of these toxic metals are reported. |
