Summary: | In the present work Zn/55Al coatings from different suppliers were studied. The results revealed the presence of at least two different phases in the interdendritic and in the dendritic areas that compose the coating. Analyses done in the cross section of test panels exposed for five years in six different atmospheres showed that the corrosion process begins in the aluminium-rich phase present in the interdendritic area. |
