Summary: | Three different methods for the determination of the amine hydrogen equivalent weight in aliphatic amine epoxide hardeners were compared. Two of those methods are based on potentiometric titration and the other one uses differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The three methods give similar values. The combination of the potentiometric methods result in a faster procedure that could be used in a satisfactory way for the determination of the amine hydrogen equivalent weight of aliphatic polyamines of low molecular weight. Furthermore, DSC could also be used with success for the determination of the amine hydrogen equivalent weight of these amine epoxide hardeners. |
