Description
Summary:Between November 1979 and December 1980, samples of surface sediment were collected from 66 stations in the coastal and offshore waters of Kuwait, and analysed for petroleum hydrocarbons. The findings indicated that, since the levels of petroleum residues were not consistently associated with particular sediments, their distribution was mostly affected by the anthropogenic input resulting from industrial effluents, sewage and oil spills, and the heavy oil shipping activities in the area.
