Description
Summary:It is increasingly important to maximize the productivity of our agricultural land. As concern for efficient food and fiber production increases, the importance of the application of operations research to agricultural problems increases. During the past decade, there has been much effort to combine mathematics and agriculture. This paper presents the role that operations research has played in integrated pest management for the agricultural industry. An effort is made to present the state-of-the-art in biological modeling for agriculture pest management and to provide an understanding of the type of mathematical techniques utilized.
