Summary: | The fundamental conception of the detection range of a low-light-level imaging system is described. Based on the common apparent distance detecting equation, a more practicable and reliable equation is established by using factors such as atmospheric transmissivity, spectral matching factor, and so on. The relations of these parameters, which have an influence on performance of the system, are analyzed. Finally, some approaches are proposed for better estimates of the field performance and optimization of the design of night vision system. © |
