Summary: | In the software development industry shortages of human resources are quite common. Companies are often in the need for new software developers and consultants. Knowledge sharing techniques can help a lot in the process of training new software developers and IT consultants. The authors of this article present an accelerated knowledge sharing method that reduces the necessary training on the job. This method has been tested and was successful in training ABAP developers for companies that work in the SAP sector. Thanks to this method a number of about 60 students were given in only 6 months the level of knowledge that would have required about 2 years of conventional training on the job. The authors present a detailed description of the method used in enlarging a software development team over a period of two years. The presentation is focused on practical aspects and includes a set of practical observations. |
