Interplay between hydrogenation and pressure effects in magnetism of Lu2Fe17 single crystal

Lu 2 Fe 17 is a ferromagnet below T C =140 K and antiferromagnet up to T N ≈ 278 K. Hydrogen absorption leads to a stabilization in the ferromagnetism over the whole range of magnetic order and to an increase of the ordering temperature up to T C =354 K in Lu 2 Fe 17 H 1 . The external pressure comp...

Description
Summary:Lu 2 Fe 17 is a ferromagnet below T C =140 K and antiferromagnet up to T N ≈ 278 K. Hydrogen absorption leads to a stabilization in the ferromagnetism over the whole range of magnetic order and to an increase of the ordering temperature up to T C =354 K in Lu 2 Fe 17 H 1 . The external pressure compensates the lattice expansion upon hydrogenation, and a re-entrance of antiferromagnetism is observed.
