Studies on electrical and dielectric properties of Ba1−xSrxTiO3
Barium strontium titanate (BST) samples with the molar formula Ba1-xSrxTiO3 in which x varies as 0.,0.2 and 0.3mol% were prepared by standard double sintering ceramic method. The tetragonal perovskite phase formation was confirmed by XRD. The lattice parameters a and c were calculated from the XRD d...

Summary: | Barium strontium titanate (BST) samples with the molar formula Ba1-xSrxTiO3 in which x varies as 0.,0.2 and 0.3mol% were prepared by standard double sintering ceramic method. The tetragonal perovskite phase formation was confirmed by XRD. The lattice parameters a and c were calculated from the XRD data. The DC resistivity was measured as a function of temperature. The dielectric constant and loss tangent were studied as a function of frequency and temperature. To understand the conduction mechanism in the samples AC conductivity was measured from dielectric data at room temperature in the frequency range 100Hz to 1MHz. Experimental data shows a linear decrease of Curie temperature with increasing strontium content. |
