Description
Summary:The two big commercial airframers made a solid start to their order totals in the first three months of this year, although problems affecting shipments of the 737 Max saw Boeing lag Airbus significantly in completed deliveries. Airbus's first-quarter net orders totaled 170 aircraft, with this sum dominated by American Airlines' early March commitment for 85 A321neos. The airframer also disclosed agreements with Indian budget carrier IndiGo for 10 A320neos, while an undisclosed operator will take a single A319neo. Other orders included 71 A350s: 33 for Korean Air, 20 for Delta Air Lines, 11 for Ethiopian Airlines and two for an undisclosed customer, along with a further five A350 freighters for Starlux, which will also take three A330-900s. Meanwhile, Boeing's net order total stood at 126 jets, representing a small rise from 120 in the same period of 2023.
