Description
Summary:A retrospective study was conducted to assess the safety and efficacy of lacosamide in children less than 24 months of age. Patients were included if they were 50% reduction in seizure burden. In addition, patients’ charts were reviewed until 24 months of age to assess for any adverse effects attributed to maintenance lacosamide therapy, with adverse effects noted in three patients (abnormal movements in two patients, worsened seizures in one patient). This study is among the largest retrospective chart reviews investigating use of lacosamide in children, and the first investigating the efficacy of lacosamide in children
