Ti3C2Tx MXene bonded perylene diimide as a robust charge host for seawater electrolytes

In this work, we report Ti3C2Tx MXene bonded cationic perylene diimide (cPDI) as a redox charge storage host for seawater-based electrolytes. A reversible and stable charge storage capacity of ∼101 mA h g−1 is achieved in 3 M MgCl2 electrolytes at a current density of 0.25 A g−1 with an extended cyc...

Description
Summary:In this work, we report Ti3C2Tx MXene bonded cationic perylene diimide (cPDI) as a redox charge storage host for seawater-based electrolytes. A reversible and stable charge storage capacity of ∼101 mA h g−1 is achieved in 3 M MgCl2 electrolytes at a current density of 0.25 A g−1 with an extended cycling stability of more than 8000 cycles. The redox charge storage dynamics of cPDI in metal-ion electrolytes are mapped through three-dimensional Bode plots.
